Player Mode Parameter Contexts

Per-step and per-track parameters in the Player

The Parameter Panel switches view depending on your selection. Three distinct contexts, three different sets of controls.

Pad Parameters

What it controls Sound design for a single pad — the tone, timing, and character of every hit that pad triggers.

When you’d open it You’ve loaded a sample into a pad and want to shape it before sequencing: tighten the start point, pitch it down an octave, roll off some high end, or add a volume envelope so it breathes.

Quick example

  1. Select pad 3 in the pad grid.
  2. Set Trim Start to 0.12 and Trim End to 0.65 to isolate the body of the sample.
  3. Enable the filter, choose High Pass, and sweep Cutoff up to 400 Hz.
  4. Drop Pitch by 7 semitones.
  5. Pull Pan to -40 to seat it left of center.

Track Parameters

What it controls Sequencer behavior for one track — its clock speed, groove feel, sync relationship, and how page groups cycle.

When you’d open it You want track 2 running at eighth-note triplets while track 1 stays on sixteenths, or you need track 5 to shuffle with exponential swing at 35%.

Quick example

  1. Select track 4 in the track row.
  2. Set Clock Divider to 1/8 Triplet.
  3. Raise Swing to 30% and switch Swing Curve to Exponential.
  4. Set Group Playback to Increment with 2 loops per group so the track cycles through its groups automatically.

Step and Substep Parameters

What it controls Per-step triggering conditions and per-substep articulation — velocity, pitch, pan, timing, probability, effect sends, and more.

When you’d open it You’ve activated a step and want to split it into a 4-hit roll with decaying velocity, or you need step 9 to fire only every third loop with a filter sweep.

Quick example

  1. Click step 5 to select it.
  2. Set Substeps to 4.
  3. Choose the Ratchet preset to get a rapid-fire decay.
  4. Raise Dice on substep 3 to 60% so it drops out unpredictably.
  5. Set Effect Send A1 on substep 1 to 80% for a reverb wash on the first hit only.
